Perhaps a bit more yellow should have been taken out of the image, but at the time I was concerned I may have taken out the defining factor. On the other hand it may be a photo that I need to keep studying before sending it to Photoshop for a butchering there.

pictures of flying small birds.

If you noticed all of these pictures used the same post as a prop. The reason for that is many birds will perch on it much like the pylon in front of my perch on the deck. I will continue to use it for the purpose of being able to predict better what the bird is preparing to do. Due diligence and time will write that story.

I got a new lens

I would like to be able to reach out another 100 feet further than the 400 but that’s not going to happen. I will be satisfied with 50-75 feet, that will allow me to take great images to 50 feet beyond the far Levee

a few good pics

The photo of the Robin did not have too much convincing power however it is also 50 feet away and ended up OK. It is barely blog worthy, if it were taken with my 400mm it would have been much better.

i’m sorting it all out; again.

At the time I shot the Redwing Blackbird the sun was setting, this camera was kept set. When I took the pictures as the Sun was setting the shutter speed adjusted to 1/80 much too slow for my popping joints and creaky bones.

I’m lagging.

Two good discoveries in my world this week, back button focus and large grid mode for the focus points. After I take delivery of all of the technical “stuff” I will be able to know acurately if it is me or the lens. I have two lenses to calibrate a 100-400mm Tamron I purchased new. I recently purchased a Tamron 150-600mm used zoom lens.

so many bad photos and so little time.

Of 100 pictures I take of them I am fortunate to have 10 keepers. Of those a few are slightly out of focus which I labor over until I realize it and think “what in the world are you doing?” It’s possible to save a lot of things in this life but an out of focus picture just ain’t one of em’.
