I attempted to ambush Hummingbirds again this morning, true to form I got bored and took photos of flowers. The sun had just risen, it’s interesting the many different ways it lights them up.
The sun lit the yellow/red rose up like a lightbulb, this bush has many different colors of flowers on it.
Growing on the opposite side of the Rose Bush are these bright red flowers, this image was captured under a full sun.
The photo above was taken just as the sun was rising, it cast a beam of light directly on the flower. It supports one of the catch phrases I’ve heard that photography is in many ways luck. Being in the right place at the right time perhaps but there is a bit more to it than that.
During the golden hour when this was taken the morning sun was so intense it cast a yellow pale on the leaves. I did not want to edit by adding more green to them because the flower is lit up so well.
Although it is not a real good image (above) I felt the shadow on the wall added a dimension to the composition. This is the plant I sat in front of waiting for the Hummingbirds. After all I thought what a great flower to attract the fast little flyers, it’s almost as good as a Geranium.
